Car Detailing in South Yarra
Most South Yarra bookings are decided by one thing: whether your building has a tap in the car park. Here is how we work around it when it does not.
What we
see in South Yarra.
South Yarra is the hardest suburb in our area to detail in, and it is worth being upfront about why rather than finding out on the morning. The housing is dominated by apartment towers along Toorak Road, Chapel Street and the river, and the car lives in a basement.
Three things go wrong down there. There is often no tap in or near the bay. There is often no powerpoint we can reach. And plenty of owners corporations prohibit washing a car in the car park at all, usually because of what runs into the stormwater drain. None of these is fatal on its own, but we need to know before we load the van.
What usually works: a visitor bay or loading dock near a services tap, an early start before the car park gets busy, or an interior-only booking — which needs a powerpoint but no running water at all. If your building has a designated wash bay, that is the ideal and we will happily use it.

Basement bays with no tap
The single most common blocker. Check for a services tap in the car park or wash bay before booking, and tell us what you find.
Building rules on washing
Plenty of owners corporations prohibit it outright. A two-minute email to your building manager saves a wasted booking.
Low clearance
Many basements are signed around 2.1 m. Not a problem for us on foot, but it does rule out working out of a van inside.
What to
have ready.
We bring the machines, pads, compounds, chemicals and lighting. What we cannot bring is water and power — there is no tank or generator in the van, so the tap and the powerpoint have to be yours.

- Confirmation from building management that washing is allowed, if the car park is common property
- A visitor bay or wash bay booked for the length of the job
- Or simply book interior only — power needed, water not

Every surface in the cabin vacuumed, steamed, wiped down and freshened. Needs power, but no water.
Indicative for sedans and small SUVs in reasonable condition. Larger SUVs, utes and vans add 20–30%. Prices include GST. A $50 deposit holds your booking; the balance is paid on the day.
